CUSTOMER TERMS

Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply to SolarVue quotations, bookings, installation, payment, warranties and cancellations.

Important: A website quote request is an enquiry only. A contract is formed only after you accept a SolarVue quotation and SolarVue confirms the booking or otherwise confirms acceptance.

1. Quotations

A formal SolarVue quotation is normally valid for 30 days unless it states otherwise. We may revise a quotation if measurements, glazing specification, access, quantities, site conditions or the requested scope differ from the information originally supplied.

2. Measurements and glazing suitability

Customer-supplied measurements may be used to prepare a quotation, but SolarVue must be satisfied with final measurements and glazing suitability before installation. Some glass types, coatings, defects or existing films may make a proposed film unsuitable.

3. Booking and deposit

After you accept a quotation, SolarVue may request a 25% booking deposit to secure the date and allocate or order materials. The deposit is credited against the contract price. Any amount retained following a cancellation will be subject to applicable consumer law and limited to sums SolarVue is lawfully entitled to retain.

4. Balance payment

Unless the quotation says otherwise, the remaining balance is due on completion of the installation. Larger or staged work may have a different written payment schedule.

5. Consumer cancellation rights

If you are a consumer and the contract is concluded online, by telephone, at your home or otherwise at a distance or off-premises, you will normally have a 14-day cancellation period. See our Cancellation Policy for details and the cancellation form.

If you ask us to start services during the cancellation period, we will obtain the required express request before starting. If you then cancel after work has begun, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation. If the service has been fully performed within the cancellation period, the right to cancel may end where the legal requirements for this are satisfied.

6. Access and customer responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the installation area.
  • Where reasonably practicable, clear fragile items, furniture and obstructions from the working area.
  • Tell us about known cracks, defects, leaks, previous films or coatings.
  • Tell us about parking restrictions, permits, building-management rules or access constraints before the installation date.

7. Installation and curing

Window film is applied using a wet installation process. Temporary haze, moisture pockets or minor visual variation can occur while the film cures. Curing time varies with the product, glass, temperature and weather.

8. Appearance and reflective privacy

Samples and photographs are illustrative. Final appearance depends on the underlying glass and lighting. Reflective film is not guaranteed to provide one-way privacy at night; when it is brighter inside than outside, the privacy effect may reduce or reverse.

9. Workmanship warranty

SolarVue provides a 12-month workmanship warranty from the installation date for faults directly caused by our installation workmanship. It is separate from any manufacturer product warranty and does not affect statutory rights.

The workmanship warranty does not cover misuse, abrasive or unsuitable cleaning, later building work, third-party alteration, accidental damage, pre-existing glazing defects or issues unrelated to SolarVue’s workmanship.

10. Product warranties

Where a manufacturer warranty applies, its duration, scope and exclusions are governed by the relevant manufacturer’s terms and glazing-compatibility requirements. We will provide available warranty information relevant to the installed product.

11. Cleaning and aftercare

Follow the aftercare guidance supplied by SolarVue. Do not clean the film until the recommended curing period has passed, and use non-abrasive methods and suitable cleaning products.

12. Delays outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supplier disruption, restricted site access or conditions that make installation unsafe. We will seek to rearrange affected work reasonably promptly.

13. Complaints

If you have a concern, contact SolarVue@outlook.com or 07873 512511 promptly, with reasonable details and photographs where helpful. We will review the issue and, where appropriate, arrange inspection or remedial action.

14. Statutory rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow us to do so, and nothing removes your statutory consumer rights.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where they live.
